Umeå, April 23, 2026 – EduTechSmart announces that customers have now successfully begun using their digital dementia course, developed with game-based learning to strengthen staff competence. The course aims to provide fundamental knowledge about dementia diseases, their impact on the individual, and tools for a professional and person-centered approach.
EduTechSmart’s dementia course is based on gaming technology with worlds created in 3D and is filled with scenarios where the participant must take continuous action, which EduTechSmart is the first in the world to offer to providers within the care sector. Upon completion of the course, staff are expected to be able to identify early and late signs of dementia diseases, use person-centered communication methods, understand how the physical environment affects people with dementia, and work based on a compassionate and professional value system.
“It is important to see the person, not the disease. The dementia course highlights what is most important, and we have made it easy to internalize through concrete game-based situations,” says Delia Zadius, CEO of EduTechSmart. She continues: “After completing the course, staff should feel confident in encountering dementia in various forms and stages. Dementia is a standard course that all staff truly need to take.”
EduTechSmart’s digital education package is available to all care providers who wish to modernize their staff development through interactive learning. The courses are verified by a team of experts and contain the standard information that all staff need to know, featuring many interactive practical exercises. EduTechSmart’s goal is to make it simple and effective to train and maintain the competence of both existing and new staff.
