Umeå, October 22, 2025 – Järfälla Municipality is the first among Sweden’s municipalities to raise the quality of care through game-based web courses from EduTechSmart. The courses included are language-adapted and create continuity through annual repetition. The learning package includes Fire Safety, CPR, Moving and Handling, Hygiene, Dementia, and Low Arousal Approach.
The healthcare and social care sector in Sweden faces major challenges where demand is growing rapidly. This requires modern training solutions that meet today’s demands for efficiency and accessibility. They need to be easy to use, adapt to the individual, and provide a diploma to all employees. Järfälla Municipality’s choice has therefore fallen on EduTechSmart.
The six courses included are Fire Safety, CPR, Moving and Handling, Hygiene, Dementia, and Low Arousal Approach. The courses are primarily aimed at personal assistance, home care, elderly housing, and LSS homes (housing/services under the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
“We are proud that Järfälla is one of the first municipalities in Sweden to invest in game-based learning for employees in healthcare and social care. By combining technology with pedagogy, we are taking an important step towards the workplace of the future. This innovative initiative gives our employees the opportunity to learn in a completely new way, in an environment that is engaging, easily accessible, and inclusive. The courses are offered in several languages, which allows more employees to access the content on their own terms. It strengthens competence, increases motivation, and makes learning a natural part of the working day. For us, this is an investment in both the employees’ development and their well-being,” says Anneli Lagerberg, Head of Department for Elderly and Functional Disability in Järfälla Municipality.
“Our first municipality signed up as a multi-year customer is a big milestone for us and shows that we are on the right track,” says Delia Zadius, CEO of EduTechSmart. “The goal of our journey is to elevate the status of everyone working in care and ensure they receive the world’s best training. A big thank you to Järfälla Municipality for sharing our insights on the future of education!”
EduTechSmart is now ready to offer its package of courses to all municipalities.
